Designs for Production

In my work I am concerned with the soft feel and the fluidity of the material. All works are formed freehand when the glass is molten. I work with different themes and due to the nature of the ideas each piece is unique. I am challenged by working in three dimensions and enjoy the possibility of capturing sensations.

Alongside the one-off work, Marianne designs for production. Some designs are specifically suited to small batch making, others are aimed at high volume production.

'Jugs'

The jugs are blown in clear glass, sandblasted and brush polished. The 'beaks' are made in a variety of colours. The jugs are made in batch production, but all have individual looks.

'Soft Mark' vases

The 'grooves' are cut into the vase when the glass is hot and soft enough to shape. The frosting of the surface emphasises the form and adds a velvety feel. I make the "Soft Mark' vases in a variety of transparent colours and clear. They are made in small batch production, but each piece is individual.
